I did not use glue and I used the stepping zig-zag stitch which gives each stitching line more sturdy. Is that the same stitch you used? I am curious if the glue would make a difference. I used the glue to hold the fabric in place, I was afraid of it slipping around on the cord while I was trying to zig-zag it. The zig-zag I used was just a standard one that zips from side to side.
