Me too - it was the ONLY spray "starch" available at Kroger when I went out the other night just to get spray starch - and it's terrible for adding body. I soaked the fabric three times and it was like nothing.
It may well "smooth" your fabric, but there's not enough oomph in it that I would even use it for starch-prepared appliqued.
Fortunately, I have Sta-Flo liquid so I can mix some of that in.
And I just ordered the stuff necessary to make the Terial Magic substitute and cotton quilt glue-basting spray from that link on The Feisty Quilter - we'll see how that works out.
Right below that recipe, there's another one for basting polyester batting and I might try that, too.
