Default Black Sawtooth Quilt

I am very excited to have finally finished this quilt! I started it 4 years ago and it's the quilt that kind of stopped my quilting - I knew it would be too big for my DSM and I kept running out of black, as did the store. I've upgraded my machine so felt compelled to finish this one.

I had to purchase queensize batting but I'm not sure it's final dimensions - this is on my double bed. I wanted the lightest batting they had but they were out - I felt like I just needed to get this thing done so opted for the heavier weight. It feels heavier than I meant so I regret that a teeny bit but still mostly happy to just get it done.

It's much brighter in person and the black is quite dark in contrast. It's a sawtooth block and I decided to finally make a border that was more than a solid colour. I had a book on borders but figured that since it was simple checkers that I would just add it easy peasy. Nope. Ya gotta read the book apparently. The corners are unique but I followed up by reading the border book and know how to correct it for the next quilt. I'm keeping this one so no worries!

I hope the pics show...if not I'll try and add it below...
