I keep timing out -- short form: In my Tuesday group I am the last one to volunteer for or do quilting. This time, however, due to a whole lot of horrible awful year last year, it was my turn! Very basic functional serpentine stitching along the block grids.
Our Tuesday group quilting hostess is a wonderful lady, we meet at her house because her husband has advanced alzheimer's and can't be left alone. He is pretty far progressed/locked in and last year started falling a lot, breaking his arm, and several emergency visits to pick him up/check him out. This past week she found an assisted care home for him.
One of the ladies suggested Planes as having meaning to her. We decided on at least two colors in the planes with blue skies and made our blocks.
The backing fabric is a rare vintage piece with selvedge information! From the company name/id, I have it pretty well dated to 1952. That's 70 years old/young and in great shape. Much like our friend

(who is slighlty older than the fabric).
