Container shipping costs affect far more than sewing machines. Almost everything that isn't produced domestically, including sub assemblies, parts, raw materials, etc., is shipped in them. Furniture, computers, cell phones, clothing, toys, appliances, car parts, light and plumbing fixtures, etc.
You're looking at Consumer Price Index increases, durable goods costs increases, etc.
And with wage increases for store workers and inflation on top of this, we're going to have to hang on. It's apt to be a rough ride!
