I believe your machine was made by National, not Smith & Egge. Smith & EgWge made small chain stitch machines, not a full size (that I know of). Sewalot said it looked like a New Home, but I don't think so, even though they did make some for
Wanamaker. Wanamaker was one of the badge names that National made per

ISMACS needle list does not list Wanamaker by National.
It looks like it has a broken needle. I think that this era of National machines took a 20x1 needle. If that is the case, some have dropped a15x1 needle a bit and will sew with it.
