As rusty as that looks, I'm thinking that Evaporust may leave the metal black (or at least that has been my experience). Some have better luck at polishing it back to shiny. Brasso or other metal polish with 0000 steel wool might work with some light rust. I also have heard that citric acid is a rust remover. I did get some but haven't used it for rust removal, yet. Do you have a dishwasher that uses powdered detergent? I think there is citric acid in that. I have also used Oxy-clean (generic) to simply clean attachments before I polish them. Just make sure they get dried well.

Be careful with PB Blaster so you don't get it on the paint or decals. Liquid Wrench (old fashioned) or kerosene or lamp oil may work as well.

Sorry about the shuttle bobbin. Maybe JoeJr can help some light on that or maybe someone else.

Janey - Neat people never make the exciting discoveries I do.
