I think you are making a very wise decision too because there's no one to hand them down to. They are so beautiful. Your grandmother spent alot of hours and alot of love and heart into those quilts. I wish I had my grandmothers quilts. I only have one and I guard that one with my life. Would you believe that my precious mama was using it as a door mat entering her utility room? I went in there to get something one day and I saw it. I almost fainted. I went back in her house and asked her what was she thinking? She said she laid it there to keep the air from coming in. Where do you think it is right now? All cleaned up and and laying on the back of my recliner. I cuddle up with it every time I sit down. Of course I always hold it in my arms and hug it like I am hugging my grandma. It is 100 yrs old now and ragged. It so soft and beautiful to me.
So the museum is a very good idea if you don't have anyone to leave it to that will appreciate the time and quality and love that was put into it, not to mention the memorabilia of it. They are beautiful!!!!! :)
