I think she is saying that she wants to make a quilt that would mean so much to her that she wants it to become an heirloom. Not just something thrown together for the sake of sewing. I personally pour my heart and soul into every quilt I make, but I can see where some people may just make quilts just for the sake of sewing and want to make something that has more meaning to them. I see nothing wrong with this.

As to the perfection of quilts, I have said this before on here, but the day I make a perfect quilt is the day i will stop quilting (what more will there be to do?), so it is my hope that I never make a perfect quilt!

Cheers!
