Default Poly batting, flannel backing, and cotton top

I pulled some batting out to use on a baby quilt, thinking it was wool. I’ve never used poly batting, but I’m not opposed. I’m planning to do straight line diagonal quilting. I’ve done a bit and, although I don’t have outright puckers on the flannel back, I do have some puffy wrinkles within the small squares where the diagonals cross, it’s definitely not flat. I’m wondering how it will look after washing and drying. I like the old fashioned quilt look where it gets all crinkly. Before I proceed I would like your advice. Thank you!
PS: I can’t manage to upload the photo I took, so I realize this question is a shot in the dark.
