ptquilts, I would love to find a belt that you got, but have not seen any like that. I have seen some others have made which sound similar.

There are several different things that can be used such as what is found at https://iamsewcrazy.com/2019/06/04/m...ewing-machine/ and Treadle Belt Alternative as well as numerous youtube videos.

Foggy, I don't know if any sewing machine shops in your area would have a leather treadle belt, but there many places online. I got mine from a company that is no longer in business. They even had a pdf for installing, but alas no longer available. There are instructions about installing a belt at https://www.treadleon.net/sewingmach...eadlebelt.html

Wawak has them at https://www.wawak.com/search-results/?q=treadle%20belt and there are a lot at https://www.amazon.com/s?k=leather+t...f=nb_sb_noss_1

ETA there is a good post about how the belt is supposed to ride in the pulleys at Treadle users: how often do you replace the cord? most domestic machines use the 3/16" belt.

What machine do you have - most of the belting comes in 72" length which will be too long.

Janey - Neat people never make the exciting discoveries I do.
