Sewbizgirl -- DO IT! I have been in love with Elizabeth Hartman's porcupine block forever - so cute. The quilt was fun to make, but you know the old saying - measure twice, etc, etc. I think it should be measure three times and then keep re-measuring the cut pieces! Some of the rectangles are only 1/4 inch off on the sides and can easily get mixed up. But if you concentrate the designs come out super cute.

The other aggravating thing is the small quilt ended up 48 x48 inches. So, yes 4 inches shy of my backing. I have pieced backs before but this is the first time I did it in different fabrics which had to be lined up. I'm happy with how it came out - it's a soft flannel.
