I think all machines stop in the needle up position unless you push the button and then they stop in the needle down position.
If this is not true, someone tell us different.

The high end machines have a needle up/needle down feature built into the computer. The default position is needle up, but a touch with the stylus on the indicator on the screen, puts it in the needle down position. On my old workhorse Janome, which also is computerized, I have to push the needle up/down button each time.
