Default Super Boy quilt

The second quilt I ever made was one I designed for the little boy of dear friends of mine. The wee lad is called Conner. Said friends are major comic book fans. Conner Kent is the name of Super Boy in DC comics. The fabric collection I chose was a Superman versus Batman theme. I wanted to use as many of the fabrics as I could, plus personalise it. So I came up with this, simple rectangle blocks with sashing that flowed from one block to the next. At the bottom I made a paper-pieced Superman logo version of the little boy's name. That took the longest time, the O in Conner is actually comprised of 41 pieces total. The quilt is a twin size. I have always felt that though baby quilts are precious and certainly faster and easier to make, they have a limited use. I want what I make to be used and loved for years to come, hence a larger quilt despite it being for a baby.
