If including the white strips as part of the block - it can be drawn on a 9 x 9 grid.
If using the long white strips as "sashing" - then it can be drawn on an 8 x 8 grid.
If using the 9 x 9 grid -
1.25 inch strips would make a 6.75 x 6.75 block - corner square cut 2.75 x 2.75
1.5 strips would make a 9 x 9 finished block - corner square cut 3.5 x 3.5
1.75 strips would make a 11.25 x 11.25 inch block - corner square cut 4.25 x 4.25
2.0 inch strips would make a 13.5 x 13.5 block - corner square cut 5 x 5
2.25 inch strips would make a 15.75 inch block - corner square cut 5.75 inches square
2.5 inch strips would make an 18 x 18 block - corner square cut 6.5 x 6.5
If using an 8 x 8 grid -and using the white strips as sashing -
1.25 inch strips would make a 6 inch block - cut corner square 2.75 x 2.75
1.5 inch strips would make an 8 inch block - cut corner square 3.5 x 3.5
2 inch strips would make a 12 inch block - cut corner square 5 x 5
