I make delicious tomato basil cream soup. A can of diced tomatoes blended with immersion blender. half and half or cream added not enough to turn it white but lighter red not pink, butter, salt, onion juice or powder, fresh basil paste. Most times I use basil and garlic seasoned canned tomatoes, not stewed tomatoes though.
This sounds nearly identical to the tomato basil cream soup I make, except I'll toss in a can of Ro-Tel with the can of diced tomatoes, and add gnocchi. The gnocchi throws this soup over the top for my husband and sons.
