Well IMO I think it would make a nicer looking quilt with a cream color or using the same color (meaning one color) for a boarder around each flower. It's the same pattern as Grandmothers Garden. A Great Depression quilt pattern of the 1930's. Hexagon quilts are so time consuming that you really want to love the quilt when done so maybe you should ask the principal what she thinks about it...when seeing the pieces lied out.
