The lidless box has always been available to her, it was in her room and we left it there when she got the run of the whole house. She still goes in there to sleep on the radiator seat we got, and she went to pee in there when we first brought her home.
I will ask the vet about diabetes, although I really hope she's not ill the tiny thing. I'm not sure how much is normal for her to drink, but I'll get him to check it out.
