I am thrilled with the itinerary your upcoming trip! Florence may have the best of the fabric stores for you to sample as they have an edge on the artistic world. I did a google search for "quilt shops" in Rome and Florence and saw many fabric stores. I think that will be the fastest way for you to track down a shop you must go see. I haven't been in many years and so can't help direct you to any. Maybe we have some Italian posters in here that can give you better insight? I hope so! Have a great trip!
