In addition to what you have already suggested, there could be some other things that might be checked. I didn't realize there were so many reasons for skipped stitches as indicated at

I don't know what the exact problem was other than question about same needle at
Old industrial Pfaff help but it sure wouldn't hurt to clean and oil.
