Welcome. According to ISMACS it was only for the 201. So if your cabinet came with a 201 machine in it, probably the date of the machine would correspond to the date of the cabinet. According to ISMACS the 201 was made in the years 1935-64. The only enclosed cabinet seen in what I believe is a 1937 brochure is a #51 which ISMACS doesn't list and was for multiple machines. Technically, probably the #48 could be used for other machines.

Upon further research someone (who has not been on QB since 2019) found a 1938 in a #48 cabinet. 1938 singer 201 in a 48 cabinet
