"Peonies from Heaven" an Asian Star quilt
Hi everyone! It has been many years since I posted to the quiltingboard. Some old timers will remember me. Thinking it is time to redip my toes in the QB pool. Hoping I can upload my photos. This pattern was a freeby from Nancy Mahoney called Kashmir. It is a two block quilt but once sewn together forms a look of on point stars with a diagonal sashing. All done on my Innova longarm. I gifted this quilt to a very dear family friend who went above and beyond helping care for my mom prior to her death. I bound it in the same copper colored fabric I used in the star points. First pic is the top before quilting.
Techy details:
A mix of free motion and ruler work. Rulers used were a small straight edge and Quilted pineapple arc rulers in several sizes to do the outer border arches and diamond motif in each arch.
Thread: Glide in color Sienna, magnaglide prewound bobbins in a tan color.
Batting: Hobbs Polydown
A wide back was used. Really shows off the quilting.
Hours spent on quilting: 71. That 1/4" cross hatch and matchstick backfill was super time consuming.
