Not my first quilt, but my first log cabin quilt - I had always been wary of getting all of the logs straight, because the visual is very out there in straight lines. A lot of the quilting patterns you can get by with some fudging on the blocks, but with the log cabin quilts, I think not so much - one crooked block or different log would really show up, I think.

I finally decided to just take a deep breath and go for it, and I will definitely be making more from this pattern. Thank you for the nice compilment. It is also, my very, very first Free motion quilting. (used a stencil on part of it, the rest was free motion) Before, on all my other quilts, I have always done ruler quilting or in the ditch.
