After looking up some recipes on the internet, it does seem like there are a lot of variations - that will probably taste more or less the same.
Cinnamon was in all the recipes I saw - nutmeg was in some, but not all of them.
My Mom made fabulous apple pies - unfortunately, I did not have enough sense to get her recipes - I am not a big fan of fruit pies or apples -
She gave DH around 20 frozen apple pies one year. He said it was the best gift EVER! from anyone.
