I just inherited an old (1950?) Geisler sewing machine. It needed a new belt – the leather belt that was on it was brittle and turned to dust. I tried purchasing a standard belt as a replacement – doesn't seem tight enough. When I engage the pedal, the belt seems to slip and the needle hardly moves.
Maybe a motor issue....but hopefully not.
Any belt recommendations?
