You got a lot of good suggestions to consider. I'll add one more. If your border needs quilting, I have just finished a quilt with straight line quilting on my borders. It was a 4 inch wide border and I put lines 1 inch apart running right down the border. It actually looked pretty good! At first, I thought it was just a cop-out to get it done quick, but I really liked it and might do it again.
