I ended up with a 40 year old grandmother's flower garden when my Mom passed away. Mom had started it and sewn most of the flowers, but then switched to crochet and never got back to finishing several quilts. Most where still in the house when she passed, but this for this one, she had previously given one of my SIL the pieces. SIL had never done anything with it so was glad to pass it off to me. My Mom had started it for my next oldest Sister, so I set out to finish it for her. I finished up the flowers, but after about 9 years of not getting it done (way too many hexi's) I changed the pattern to make it a lot simplier to complete. Gave it to my sister this summer at the family reunion. Her house is decorated in sort of an old farmhouse theme, and the quilt looked perfect on her bed.
I had sewn one row of blue hexi's around each flower, then trimmed them straight and added the green triangles between.
