Nothing really exciting to report... I would still rather get a good night's sleep but if I can't, at least I have stories to keep me company. I did enjoy the Sonoma Rose book by Jennifer Chiaverini so am ready for when her latest Elm Creek book (Museum of Lost Quilts) comes off hold.
Have had a few other books come off hold, book 3 of "rip through time" series by Kelley Armstrong. It was ok and was a good set up for future books. Not a series, but a favorite author, Douglas Preston (half of Preston/Child and the Special Agent Pendergast books), I had a few quibbles with Extinction but still give it a thumb's up. Husband had gotten Where the Crawdads Sing first, I read it as well and we will be ready to discuss the movie once we see it.
Am trying a couple new-to-me authors, Alyssa Cole and Sandra Brown will do more from both. "One of Us Knows" by Cole was a bit challenging to keep straight. The main character has Disassociative Disorder (formerly called multiple personality disorder). but it was an interesting premise.
I decided to go back to Stephen King, I know his early works but he is so prolific I thought I'd check out some of his later books. I did like 11/22/63 about the JFK assassination/lee harvey oswald story. I was very meh about Dr Sleep, which is the story of Danny from the Shining as an adult which came across to me as an ad for AA.
Anything exciting to the rest of you?
