Wow, these are great, just want to know how you piece your selvages together, do you overlap them? I never kept any of it, I just throw them away but now I know better, what a shame of all the beautiful things I could of created.
Yes, lots of beautiful ways to create these projects with throwaway selvages! I sew mine RST because I leave enough room to do so although some of my selvages are quite small.
I have a Marti Mitchell one that you can hardly see the name it is so tiny. For those, I have to cut wider and some I will sew leaving the fringe exposed on the outside! I love that look of the fringe on the outside in some projects. You just have to consider the way it's being used and then decide the sewing method. For a project that would get lots of handling like a sunglass case, I would sew all strips with at least a 1/4" seam. Some projects only need 1/8" seam. Some would need the fringe exposed. Some would need overlapping as they are so tiny and some would need to be mixed with plain fabric strips to give variety and color! So glad you want to save some now and create something beautiful!!
:-D :-D
thanks for the tips, what is RST?
RST is right sides together.
