Two of you mentioned that crafting books are not popular at the library. Well perhaps not at the check out desk, but I work our library book sale events and we sell many, many craft books. There is still a population that like to see projects illustrated and hold a book in their hand. We sell books 3 for a $1 and crafts, knitting, quilting, crochet and applique often nearly sell out. (That would be 100+ at each sale with 6 sale a year.) All books are donated and the "profit" is returned to the library to purchase other books.

I would not hesitate to donate books to a local library if they host a sale as a fund raiser for the institution. Read on my quiltiy friends.
