In March I went to Empty Spools at Asilomar for the first time and attended the workshop taught by
Meri Henriques Vahl. I was so far out of my comfort zone I might as well have been on a different planet. I chose a print by Will Moses (the grandson of Grandma Moses) to use as inspiration. My husband and I had purchased the print while on a vacation in New England several decades ago. I finished most of the little quilt during the workshop, but modified it slightly and quilted it after I returned home.
I learned new techniques and had a nice time meeting other quilters at the retreat.
