My favorite July 4th memory. Has to be July 4, 1992. I was 35 weeks pregnant and my spouse and I decided to go for a walk. We put our 13 month old son in the stroller and walked 4 miles to Taco Bell for lunch. On the way home, I was pushing the stroller and having to stop a bit for contractions. My husband kept asking, "Are you okay?" I would reply, "Good, just a few contractions." We got home, I put Josh down for a nap, my husband was watching Tv and I grabbed a book and laid on the bed. I was writing down each time I had a contraction, but was not really paying attention. My mom called to see how I was feeling. I told her I was having contractions. She asked how far a part they were. I looked at the paper, and said, "About every 2 minutes." She said, "Get to the hospital."

We went to the hospital and I was saying, "He's coming." They did not believe me because I was so little and did not look ready to deliver. I only gained 12 pounds. 10 minutes later, Jacob Steve-Parnell Stewart was born at 3:45 PM weighing in at 6 pounds 12 ounces and 19.5 inches long. Best 4th of July ever!
