My grandmother was pulled into the factories to be a seamstress in WW2 where she was taught to sew uniforms.
She taught me to pull the thread-tail firmly to the rim of the bobbin and tuck it in-between the rim and the thread.
It never unravels.
The end is always easy to find and untuck with a quick pull upward.
