I was just giving thought to my old babysitting days, how I did everything when I babysat, everything from making bottles from scratch with homemade baby formula and all, how I used to make homemade baby food, and changing diapers meant good old cloth diapers that needed to be folded from scratch to fit the baby/child wearing them.
Two diaper pins were used to secure those diapers... one on each side, and then the diapers were topped off with rubber pants. Back in my day plain old-fashioned white rubber pants were in vogue and trying to thread a kicking babies little feet through the elastic leg holes of the pants was always fun with baby's legs going 100 mph.
I remember washing diapers, vacuuming, washing dishes, preparing and serving meals, cleaning up toys scattered all through the houses, and anything and everything else that needed doing.
Evening babysitting, which I did a lot of, I'd sit in a wooden chair beside the babies cribs and read the little ones a bedtime story, and I was all of age 10, when I started babysitting!
Babysitters today would be lost navigating through the old days of babysitting.
