What an awesome memory inspiring thread. My mom had a diaper service for me, and I remember the penny candy, and those tiny brown paper bags, you could fill one with a quarter. Party lines I remember. My mom and I both still have clothes lines. I cherish my childhood memories, I feel so bad for the current generation, they will never experience what growing up in the 70's and 80's were like, and for me it was wonderful.

Yes, those little tiny miniature brown paper bags that stores had for penny candy. I remember how a gang of us neighbourhood kids would embark upon the store, little tiny brown paper bags would be given to each of us, and the store owner would help us in figuring out how many of this or that we could get.
Red Hots, a chewy spicy hot candy about the size of a silver dollar were a favourite of mine!
I feel the same as you, in that growing up in the 60's and 70's, was the best, but of course I'm really slanted when it comes to that.
