Rjwilder, I find small quilts handy for babies, children, and lap quilts. I try to keep mine 40-45” wide and up to 50” long. Sometimes patterns just kind of tell the quilter how big they should be! And there always seem to be more babies or children that seem to need a quilt. The group i donate to uses a different children’s charity each time in different locations. The last ones went to foster children. I also try hard not to make too many “girly” quilts. There are more boys in care and hospitals than girls, but we quilters seem to have a lot more flowers and pink in our stash than other things. I therefore deliberately search for gender neutral things. Obviously the triangle quilt is not one of those though.
