I don't mind doing those. I like doing Lori Holt patterns and she does that a lot. I use the folded corner ruler and makes it easy. You put the square in place. And instead of sewing from corner to corner, you use the ruler to cut both fabrics ( the square and the piece you are sewing to). After cutting, you just sew a quarter inch seam and press.
