Many years ago (20??) I would snort derisively at what I referred to as "fabric wasteful" techniques. Boy, have I changed my tune!The speed and accuracy have won me over and I have convinced myself that there is very little waste with the small triangles. Now if it is smaller than 2" I happily just cut off and toss the excess and don't think twice. If it is larger I might think first and sew the alternate sides together and do something with them or come up with a different techniique

There is nothing that requires you to use a certain method. If you are happier with old school formulas and techniques, Someone else may have designed the project but it the work of our hands
