I agree with Linda. If the pieces are large, I tend to make HSTs with the cut off part, and then end up with lots of pinwheels. If the pieces are smaller than 2", I throw them away. I think I might try the folded corners ruler to see if I can achieve some semblance of accuracy. Thanks for the suggestion!
