I'm wondering if you are thinking about something similar to what is shown on this page http://sewnomadic.blogspot.com/2013/...-path.html?m=1
There is another way is to applique a circle on a square and then cut in quarters as seen at https://auntemsquilts.com/blog/drunkards-path-made-easy but unfortunately the link to the "perfect circle applique method" doesn't work. There are a couple of ways to make circle appliques one use fusible interfacing as shown at https://nancyzieman.com/blog/quiltin...cle-appliques/ and the other is with regular ingerfacing http://lmpoole.blogspot.com/2009/01/...-applique.html
There are several place that show how to sew the pieces and if you want to press toward the outside of the block, you would need to clip that edge of the seam.
