I started out with the 12 inch slotted ruler but found I had to fold the fabric too many times to fit so when they went on sale, I bought the larger one and I'm not disppointed at all with my purchase. I gave my other one to a friend just starting out learning how to quilt plus it had cracked at one end but I taped it and it's still usable. Glad you found a great tool.
