Carol in Wi -- it is so easy to get distracted with options and inspired by other choices. I thought your "first final" set was great. Also liked your other ideas. For me, having so much fabric is not always a good thing. I am trying to use up small bits but I think in general I need to narrow down my fabrics to a few of each color. I know I had particular difficulties with my greens, all would work but none made me happy.
QuiltingObsessively, ooo -- first post here and in a Mystery Quilt thread! So happy to have you join us. There is a lot of sewing involved and usually some pretty small pieces but I think Bonnie gives very good directions. She will usually give a couple different ways to achieve each step either using specialty or conventional rulers and the rest of us here all have our ways of doing things too. Some using Accuquilt dies to cut, or I'm a cut large and trim down kind of style. Remember to ask questions, share frustrations and always remember it is not a race!
Macybaby -- if I'm recalling correctly you also made a big move. Getting my sewing room set up is still on-going here. My biggest challenge now is clearing off my sewing table which has just had odds and ends dumped on it for the last 6 months. I did get one corner cleared off this past weekend, that leaves 3 to go.
Speaking of sharing frustrations and cleaning/organizing chores, my expensive modern Bernina 820 that I've called "Cranky Bernie" is no longer operational. I will be doing this project on my classic vintage machine that never gives me any trouble. I will miss the bright lights and bells and whistles and especially the needle threader but working beats non-working any day.
