Gemm described it accurately
- the center is a plain square.
- the star points are made using either flying geese patches or two half square triangles facing each other. (i would use flying geese because there are fewer seams and they look better.)
- the block corners are smaller plain squares.
- the quilt borders are also made using two different sizes of flying geese.
- the first border includes solid corner stones (plain patches)
- i can't see the corners of the larger, outer border
if you want to make it more difficult, you could also use an 8-point lemoyne star using diamonds that meet in the center of the star.
