I stumbled on a new way to clean out some of my stash. I am part of a group that makes simple quilts and other items for donation. Last Tuesday, I took a layer cake with me and finished a top in just a little over two hours. Yup, just joined the blocks in a 5X6 grid and the other ladies will layer using the birthing method and then tie the quilt. This one will go to a homeless individual in our area. I found a jolly bar in my cupboard when I got home and will do the same with the 5X10" strips making a bright and colorful quilt for a woman or an older child. Just about 5 yards of fabric out of my stash that I did not particularly like but did not have the heart to give away. I think this may help me clear away some of the pieces I have that have been sitting in the shadows for years. Out the door!
