Does anyone take their own chair to retreats and sewing days?

My back and shoulders often bother me, even more so after sitting in a chair that has no padding and does not swivel to the side.

The padding was solved easily enough by taking a cushion, meant for long distance car travel. But that didn't help with turning to the side to use a small pressing station. So I added the gadgets that go on the bottom of the chair legs, tennis ball mounted on rollers, basically. The chair kept slipping off of it. Not enough to dump me, but enough that it wasn't efficient at all.

Between the two, I've spent as much as an inexpensive task chair would cost, so am considering asking for that. But is it a hassle to get in and out of the car? I'm afraid it will be... And then, I think I don't want to spend money on even more that is kind of a "make do" and think I should get a small sewing chair, like the Arrow chairs.
