With my vision issues, I don't always get to see the birds but I could recognize many different songs once we moved.
I really recommend the (free and easy, no connection) Merlin app. Can go on a phone or I have on a tablet. Log in your area and point towards bird song and it will identify for you, plus show you pictures and other things like whether it is local or migratory.
