Happy New Year everyone! I will be sipping something bubbly as the ball drops if I manage to stay awake. Ham, cabbage, black-eyed peas is our traditional menu in some combination throughout the New Year's Day. It is said that whatever you do New Year's Day is what you will be doing for the rest of the year so I am going to sit at my sewing machine for a few hours working on sashing my patriotic BOOM blocks. I also plan on playing with the grands as much as possible.
Has anyone see the movie, Wicked? It is gorgeous! The scenery, the costumes, the music -- all of it is dazzling! I highly recommend it to you. It is only half the story with the second half coming out next year. I read the books when they came out in the 90s. Glinda and Elfaba become great friends in this first half. The propaganda that turned Elfaba "into a wicked witch" is more heavily focused on in the second half of the movie but there are hints in this first half.
Sewbizgirl, more movies for you and DH. I hate that your hand is in such bad shape. If you have mentioned an accident that caused it to get this way, I missed that. I am so sorry. The 7th cannot get here fast enough.
Janice -- I can't believe they haven't scheduled you, yet. I wonder if it is because the hospital was affected by the hurricane or perhaps personnel is still missing to have a full surgical suite. I hope you hear from them soon.
Bring on 2025!
