Default 2025 UFO Challenge

Happy New Year!!! Happy New UFO CHALLENGE of 2025. I hope all had a great, fabulous holiday season. Mine was good. I enjoyed having time with my family members. Now it’s back to normalcy. Welcome new and returning members.

Oh and It’s that time again, where we start the new UFO Thread and start posting pics of our finished UFO’s. Our goals in this thread is to give encouragement to each other and work on our UFO’s at our leisure. If you want suggestions on how to finish an UFO, just ask away. We have many members able to give suggestions. This year I would like members to select 1-3 UFO’s they plan to complete each month and let us know what needs to be completed for the UFO. It okay and great if you post pics of your beginning projects if you can.

We have a few guidelines. A UFO is what you consider a ufo. I consider for myself, a project I have not touched or worked on as a UFO project for over a year. But remember that is my definition. You may have another definition. That’s fine too, because it’s your definition that counts as your UFO’s. A UFO is considered a completed project, ready to use, quilted, bind, if needed, and ready to use or gift. If you decide to redistribute or sell the fabric to your stash, etc, and no longer have that UFO, I consider that a completed UFO. If you gift the unfinished project to a person or guild, ect, it’s considered a finish. It is off your UFO list right.
This year I don’t consider a ufo project, needlework, crochet, etc. The UFO needs to have 3 layers (top, batting, backing) and quilted. So if you have a quilted pillow case, pillow project, purse, clothing jackets, vest and meets the above criteria, it counts as a UFO this year.

My January list: (1). sew binding on my r/w/blk. (2) quilt pillow portion on Chiefs quillow. Then sew the pillow portion on the quilt. (3). Sew blocks and finish my 2.5” traffic jam twin quilt. (4) sew borders on my Floral twin quilt and quilt and bind. (5) quilt a top I currently have completed in my completed flimsy container. Three of my projects shouldn’t take more than a few days to complete. I just need to start working on them. So members, let’s work on our projects.

Just for fun. I have added a fun quilt challenge: you will make a list of 12 UFO projects you want to complete this year. We do not need to see your list. Each month I will pull a number 1-12. Look for the number pulled the last few days of the month. For January I pulled number 3. So number 3 on my list is Traffic Jam. So I need to complete #3, and post pic by the end of the month. Now comes the challenge. What you don’t complete will have a commutative affect. Example. I don’t get January’s UFO done. So in February I will need to do my January number and February number to meet the challenge. The person(s) who complete their entire list at the end of the year, will get a small gift from me. Plus have the satisfaction of having 12 UFO’s completed. Sounds like fun? Just make your list and work on your UFO’s. Don’t forget we love pics. Lots and lots of pics.

So happy sewing/quilting everyone!!!!!😊
