I agree with cjsews that it is a Snowball Nine Patch quilt and it being about the color placement. There is one that is similar color-wise, except black instead of white shown on quilterscache.com. I think it is on page 3 that gives measurements for four blocks. The instructions for it start at

You will find some images of quilts made using the pattern on the quilterscache page 2. I also did a search for Snowball Nine Patch to see a lot of different looking ones based on fabric chosen.
