I have a newly purchased spool of Omni thread that I used for my last quilt that kept splintering. Thought perhaps it was the needle. Had just received 2 pkgs of needles from Amazon so I tried 5 needles before it stopped. Still don't know if it was the thread or the needles, but it made for a tearful 2 days of sewing.
